Salsa & Merengue

Salsa Fusion

To a novice, Salsa will look pretty much the same no matter what style they are watching, for the most part it is a blur of hands, feet, and other body parts.  We concentrate on three different styles which we will use in our classes.  We fuse together the best parts of the LA and Cuban salsa styles, and also like to teach Rueda, which is Cuban salsa danced in a circle, with all the couples dancing the same steps.

Merengue

Merengue originates from the Dominican Republic.  Merengue is essentially an easy and fun dance to learn, which makes it a popular social dance.  It's flirty and it's fun, and it has a very simple beat with very simple steps which means you can be partying before you know it.  Some of the moves in Merengue are similar to those of Salsa but, in Merengue, they are slower and easier to pick up.  Merengue has become a popular part of any Salsa event and any Latino Club nights.
